Christmas!

Aww
You know what I love?

I love the idea of Santa Claus.  I mean, Santa spends ALL year working to make other people happy, and he makes it happen.  Really makes it happen, without asking for anything in return.  And you know what, everyone loves him.   Who doesn't love Santa?  No one, that's who.

My very favorite quote is by Jon Bon Jovi and it says.  "Believe in love.  Believe in magic.  Hell, believe in Santa Claus.  Believe in others.  Believe in yourself.  Believe in your dreams.  If you don't, who will?"

So, yes, I believe in Santa.  Or someone like him.  They're out there, and whoever and wherever you are, I think you rock.  Keep doing what you do.

As this will be my last post before Christmas...  Merry Christmas everybody.  Hope you have a good one!  :)

What's the best thing someone could say to you right now, right this minute?

Emily's here!  And she brought Jeremy Maclin with her!

Explanation:  My best friend Emily is coming to town today and she should be here any minute!  Also, we all know how I feel about Jeremy Maclin :)

Hunk Thursday--Keith Urban. Also, NaNo update!

Hola!  Well, it's Thursday, and I'm waaaaaay behind on my NaNo wordcount.  By way behind, I mean about 11,000 behind.  Sigh.  I finally got excited about my story again, so *hopefully* I can get quite a bit done today (did I say something like that on Monday?  IDK)

Anyway.  NaNo break time to drool over the extremely gorgeous and outrageously talented Keith Urban.  Enjoy!

I'm back!

Where did I go, you ask?

Wellll nowhere really, but I know I'm really behind, so a quick update.

Mizzou beat Oklahoma!  Trenton lost in first round of playoffs.

Brother was in a wreck 3 weeks ago yesterday.  They are all fine.

It's November, and that means NaNoWriMo time!  I should be at 25K by the end of today and I am at 16,738 currently, so I need to get cracking on that.

I think that's about it.

If you were going to make a mix of love songs, what five songs would you *have* to include?

Alright...  Five love songs.  This may be kind of hard for me, because honestly, love songs usually make me want to throw up.  I know I'm a girl and I should just fall all over them, but that's just not me (usually).  So I guess the five that I would have to include would just be my five favorites, and they are...

1.  Born To Be My Baby by Bon Jovi...  Not like a traditional love song I guess, but look at the words.  Love. You were born to be my baby/And baby I was made to be your man/We've got something to believe in/Even if we don't where we stand
2.  Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars...  This one has to be there because A) LISTEN to him.  And B) Who doesn't want to be told they're perfect just the way they are?
3.  What It Takes by Adam Gregory...  This song is just beautiful.  I wanna know/Need to understand/What it takes to be your man
4.  Keep The Girl by Jason Aldean...  His dreams or the girl of his dreams?  Guess which he picks...
5.  God Gave Me You by Dave Barnes...  I made the CD for my cousin's wedding ceremony and she wanted to use this for her unity candle song, and it's really breathtaking and beautiful.

So there you go...  My five favorite love songs.  Yay!

Sorry, no Hunk Thursday this week, but we will get back to it next week :)

Friday Happy Hour

Ohh mental_floss, I love you and your randomness on Friday Happy Hour!

Soo here are my answers:

1.  In an effort to churn out better-prepared graduates, you’ve been hired to develop one course that all high school seniors must take. The topic is up to you: personal finance, the U.S. Constitution, health and wellness, changing flat tires. What would your class be?  Time management.  Such an important skill for anything you do in life.
2.  When did you first go online? I don't really remember...  Probably around 2000 maybe?
3.  What’s the strangest compliment you’ve received?  Hmmmm....  My grandma told me once that I had pretty nails and they weren't even painted or anything so it was a little weird lol
4.  If you were putting on a conference for people in your profession, who would be your first choice for keynote speaker? And a follow-up: who’s the best speaker you’ve seen at a conference?  My choice would be Tom Mock.  I know he's not well-known, but to me he's one of the best radio guys ever.  The best speaker I've seen at a conference was Joe Theissman.  He spoke at National FFA Convention (I don't remember which year) and I thought he was really great :)

Off to St. Joe to cheer for the Dawgs tonight!  Babysitting all day tomorrow and then lazy day Sunday maybe :)

Hunk Thursday--Leonardo DiCaprio. Also, recap of the week.

-Bowled Sunday
-Bowled last night (did awesome, btw...  102 and 85)

Okay I think that's all...  Now for the good stuff.  :)

Ohh yeah.  He is my favorite.  Yu-uh-um.  That is all.

Once again, I found this on Music Memoirs!
This week, it's Top 5 songs with names in the title

Ooops!

I have been a little behind on blogging lately, so here's what we missed:

--Met my brother's girlfriend last night...  Did not like her that much.
--Lost football game to Lexington Friday.
--Went to Ren Fest and Joe's Crab Shack on Saturday and it was AWESOME
--Sucked it up at bowling Sunday night...  74 on first game and 76 on second.  But I did get my pretty orange bag :)
--Going bowling tonight with the boss and his wife and her mom and sister and my mom
And...
--I am getting REALLY pumped for NaNoWriMo next month!  I have a title, but no plot yet...  I should probably work on that!  Also, signed up for the CD swap so I'm off to make a list for that!

Friday Happy Hour

Sooo this Friday I'm doing something different...  I found Friday Happy Hour on mental_floss and I really liked the questions today.  Here we go!

  1. Are you in the habit of inventing words?  Heard any interesting made-up words lately?  Mom and I make up words sometimes, but usually it's unintentional, like we just get tongue tied or something.  One of them that has stuck with us is houdinan-macaroni and cheese with tuna in it.  I've also been told that I used to make up words when I was little...  Matmeal was ice cream and a hobnot was an elephant.
  2. What seasonal food or beverage do you most look forward to when the autumnal equinox rolls around?  Two words:  Pumpkin spice.  Anything that is pumpkin flavored, I love.  Cappuccino, cookies, Hershey's Kisses...  YUM.
  3. Are there any old-timey traditions you'll miss when they're rendered obsolete by technology?  Hand-written letters for sure.  And books...  With all the e-readers coming out, I'm afraid actual paper books will be kind of rare, but I hope not.  I ♥ books :)
  4. What popular comedians or sitcoms do you just not find funny?  Well quite honestly, I don't watch any new sitcoms, so I guess I don't really have an answer for this one...  Sorry!
That was fun!  Off to do the rest of my work for the day so we can head to Lexington later for the game tonight...  GO BULLDOGS!

One More Thing...

I DID IT!!  I posted every day for a month :)

Soooo...  Yeah.

The end.

Hunk Thursday--Taylor Lautner

Today is Thursday...  My new favorite!  Last week, I started Hunk Thursday and I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed it, so here we are again.

TAYLOR LAUTNER.  Yummm

:)

Who knew a dirty shirt could look so good?  :)

Best Day Ever.

Sooo as you all know, I consider any day with football to be good, right?  My brother called yesterday and played JV football in Polo so we headed over there.  It was a really good game and I had a blast, but we lost 8-6.

And believe it or not, football wasn't even the best part of the day.

On our way home from Polo, we drove through Gallatin and I stopped by L's house to give him a hug and say hi.  Not five minutes after we left, he texted me and told me that my hug made his night because he was having a bad day.  Can you imagine?  My hug.  Just that one little thing made his whole entire day better.

I have to tell you, hearing that made my day a hundred times better than it was.

So then (there's more!) after I got home, Chelsea texted and told me she loved me.  No good reason at all.  She just wanted to tell me she loved me, I was beautiful, and we should talk more.

Talk about a great day.  It was AWESOME.

P.S. Smile, because I think you rock.  Yes, you.  :)

FOOTBALL

Lost the homecoming game on Friday... 48 to 21 I think the score was.  But I did get this good picture of me and my brother!

Tonight he is playing in Polo against their JV team...  It is him, McClure, Knapp, and the rest are freshmen.  This oughta be good lol.

And I edited it!!

Top 5 on Friday

Once again, I have decided to do the top 5 on Friday, which I found on Music Memoirs.

Today it is:  Top 5 songs you have liked "forever"

"Carryin' Your Love With Me" by George Strait -- This is one of the first songs I remember really just loving.  I had the tape (yes, tape) and I think it had one other song on it...  I'm pretty sure I wore that thing out!

"Abracadabra" by The Steve Miller Band -- This is one of the first 80s songs I remember listening to.  Mom and I used to rock out to this song hardcore :)

"Tearin' Up My Heart" by *NSYNC -- Don't judge me!  I used to be COMPLETELY in love with these guys, and this was the very first song I heard by them.  Seriously, look at them.  What's not to love?  LOL

Anywho, moving on...

"Genie In A Bottle" by Christina Aguilera -- Again, don't judge me!  Haha.  Christina Aguilera was the very first concert I went to...  The summer before 6th grade.  So she holds a little bit of a special place in my heart lol

"I Want It That Way" by The Backstreet Boys -- Can you tell I used to be a hardcore pop fan?  LOL.  Anyway, next to *NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys were my favorite back in the day, and this is their best song...  In my opinion at least :)

So there you have it...  My (slightly embarrassing) top 5 songs I have liked "forever"

Thursday, September 23, 2010

Hunk Thursday--Jake Owen

So...  I don't really know what I want to write about today, but I do now that I have been thinking about what a sexy, sexy man Jake Owen is.

Therefore, I leave you with two pictures of the extremely hot Jake Owen...  Enjoy!!

If you were going to die tomorrow, what would be your #1 regret?

Okay, first of all...  I have a whole freakin' bucket list of things I haven't done yet.

But the most important one, to me anyway, is that I haven't seen Canada...  I really really really want to see Canada before I die.  More specifically, Montreal, but I don't want to be too picky lol :)

So...  Canada.

Ohh, also that I wouldn't know if Dalton got Player of the Week or not, so...  keep voting!

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Motivation?

So today, a bunch of us decided that we were going to try this Weight Watchers thingie and lose some weight.  Quite frankly, I have to tell you...  Seeing my weight depressed me a little lol.  I suppose this means I should be super motivated to lose it, then?  We start tomorrow!

Also, I've been working on making myself a progress chart and calendar filled with inspirational quotes for NaNo...  Now just to come up with an idea before November actually gets here :)

And PLEASE keep voting for Dalton! :)

Monday, September 20, 2010

Gallatin :)

Soooo tonight Mom and I are going to Gallatin to see L.  We're gonna have pizza and it's gonna be awesome!  Super excited.

P.S. Keep voting for Dalton for small school athlete of the week!

Vote for Dalton!!

As I said yesterday, Dalton Preston is nominated for St. Joe News Gazette Small School Athlete of the Week... He is from Trenton so we REALLY want him to win!!

Please vote!!

Sunday, September 19, 2010

So I'm 3 for 3 this week... Bulldogs won, Tigers won, and Eagles won. WOOT! And please vote for Dalton! :)

M-I-Z

In advance for tomorrow since I can't figure out how to send pictures to this from my phone...  Some Mizzou spirit from me and Brother :)

This was taken a couple of years ago I think!

FYI, the reason we look so serious is because if we would have smiled, our face paint would crack LOL

GO TIGERS!

Top 5 on Friday

I found this here

This week's is:  Top 5 recent musical discoveries

Before I start this list, I have to admit that I have been in sort of a musical rut since my iPod died last month.  But...  Here goes anyway!

  1. This one I found last Saturday...  Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars.  I just fell in love with it.  Completely in love.
  2. Also last Saturday...  The Truth by Kris Allen.  I love love loved Kris Allen when he was on American Idol and I hadn't heard any new stuff from him for a while, but I watched VH1's Top 20 last week and man am I glad I did... #1 and #2 came from watching it lol
  3. Earlier this summer, I went to the MO State Fair and saw Bomshel in the Bud Tent.  They were awesome, but it gets even better than that!  I met them and they are SOOO nice.  Anyway, that brings me to #3... Just Fine by Bomshel.  BTW, the video is hilarious and I love it!
  4. Turn on the Radio by Reba...  Reba just rocks anyway and the video is bad ass.
  5. And since it's FOOTBALL FRIDAY, my last one has to be...  Boys of Fall by Kenny Chesney.  And once again, a great video.  It makes me wish I would have been a boy so I could have played football lol.
So there you have it.  My top 5 on Friday!

Thursday, September 16, 2010

What's one thing you love that nobody else does?

Okay...  First of all, I don't believe that anyone loves something that NOBODY else does.  That being said, there are some things that I love with more of a passion than some other people do, so there's that.

Those things would be:
-Jeremy Maclin
-Canada
-Black cats
-The color orange
-The movie "The Prestige"
-Thanksgiving
-Coloring

Probably some other stuff I can't think of right now.

What is the most useful thing you own?

The most useful thing I own is probably...  My cell phone or my computer.  I can use the internet, email, and instant messenger on both of them.  I can text and call on my phone, but I have all my music on my computer.  So I'm going to say...  BOTH.

Coincidentally, my grandma bought my computer for Christmas last year and...  It's her birthday!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!  Ilu

Top 10 Today

Well...  I really don't know what to write about today so I'm just gonna tell you my top ten songs for today and my favorite line from them (just to add a little more substance and also because I have lots of time haha)

FYI--These are not my favorite songs of all time, just for today :)
  1. This Ain't No Love Song--Trace Adkins  So baby if you want, / you can sing along, / But this ain't no love song.
  2. Keep The Girl--Jason Aldean  Like a sword with a double edged blade / It's gonna cut deep either way
  3. Just The Way You Are--Bruno Mars  And when you smile / The whole world stops and stares for a while
  4. Mine--Taylor Swift  Then you took me by surprise / You said I'll never leave you alone
  5. The Hardest Thing--98 Degrees  Maybe another time, another day / As much as I want to, I can't stay
  6. Real--James Wesley  Where I live, housewives don't act like that / And the survivors are farmers in John Deere hats
  7. Tell Me--Jake Owen  So tell me, why do I keep holdin' on? / Oh, why do I keep staring down the barrel of a loaded gun?
  8. When I Look At You--Miley Cyrus  Everybody needs a song / A beautiful melody when the night's so long / 'Cause there is no guarantee that this life is easy
  9. Cryin' For Me (Wayman's Song)--Toby Keith  So play it sweet in heaven / 'Cause that's right where you wanna be
  10. The Truth--Kris Allen  Honesty is honestly the hardest thing for me right now
Quick note about #6...  If you haven't heard this song yet, STOP what you're doing and go listen to it RIGHT now.  Seriously.  You won't regret it.  I promise.

I heart the 80s!

So today we were discussing the 80s and such...  I really wish I had been around!  I'm looking at you, Mom!  Lol.

Anywho.  Things I love from the 80s....

Movies:
The Outsiders
Roadhouse
Ghost
The Breakfast Club
Dirty Dancing
The Gremlins
Nightmare On Elm Street (ALL of them)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
An Officer And A Gentleman
Top Gun
Karate Kid

Movies I should see (according to my buddies at BYC):
16 Candles
Uncle Buck
Risky Business
Back To The Future (I've only seen parts of them, but never a whole movie)
The Color Of Money
Adventures In Babysitting
Pretty In Pink
St. Elmo's Fire
Secret Of My Success
Teen Wolf (I have seen it, but it has been a LONG time)

Moving on to...

Music
Bon Jovi
Def Leppard
Poison
Michael Jackson
Joan Jett
Paul Abdul
Prince
REO Speedwagon
Madonna
(And a bunch of people I like one song of, but I don't feel like naming them all right now lol)

The 80s was one of the best decades for music, in my opinion.

This has been fun...  Let's do it again some time :)

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Bowling.

Sunday is our bowling league day...  My team is Aunt Janie, me, and Janie's secretary Ida.  We haven't bowled for about 2 weeks so Janie and I are getting ready to head out to the bowling alley to get in a couple of practice games.

Watching the Eagles game for a while before we head out.

Btw, Mizzou won 50-6 last night!  I'm 2 for 2 so far.  Go Eagles :)

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Saturday...

Trenton won last night!  34-0...  Lathrop has now been outscored 79-0 so far this season

And Mizzou is winning 33-0 at halftime.

Now, just for the Eagles to win tomorrow :)

Friday, September 10, 2010

This.

This time of year...  High school football, college football, and NFL.  I love it.  Nothing makes me happier than laying around on the couch all day Saturday watching college football.  And you know you can't beat a good high school game.  And of course, NFL is always exciting.  My favorite feeling in the world is hardly being able to talk on Sunday because you went to the high school game and screamed your lungs out, and then turned around and did it again at a Mizzou game.  Perfect.

So the Bulldogs are playing tonight against Lathrop...

Mizzou tomorrow against McNeese State...

Eagles on Sunday against Green Bay.

And the best part?  They're ALL at home.  Every single one of them.  Ohh yeah!

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Patrick Swayze.

I mean...  He was AWESOME.  And gorgeous.  I just wish I would have been around to see him in his prime.  I've only recently discovered his, well, awesome-ness.  My most recent discovery is "Road House."  My dad made me watch it and I have fallen in love.  As I have with "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing."  "Ghost" made me bawl like a baby, and "Dirty Dancing" was just great.  And he was bad ass in "Road House."  So my new most prized possession is "Road House" on DVD of course!

And besides that, just LOOK at him.  *swoon*

You're welcome for leaving your day in awesomeness, btw.  :)

This is a picture of my cat, Johnny.  It means a lot to me because...  This is the best picture I have of him and I love him more than I love my brother lol.  Okay, maybe not, but I DO love this cat a lot :)

And then I edited it :)

FOOTBALL!

It's Friday and we all know what that means...  FOOTBALL.

High school home opener, more specifically.  Just got our senior shirts so I am PUMPED.

Also, trying to explain life to Tom...  Clearly he doesn't know anything.  Mom knows what I mean.  Anyway.  I have to go work on the starting lineups!!

Something I should have done a long time ago

A gigantic thank you to Tiffany for my layout, colors and such!

I appreciate you :)

Adoption

So I was reading Mental Floss this morning (as I do every morning) and found this nifty little thing called Save the Words

Anywho, I went to it and you can ADOPT A WORD.  So I got three!  I'm a mommy lol.

My words are:
operiment:  a covering
aquabib:  a water drinker
and
plegnic:  acting by a blow; striking like a hammer

So there you have it...  Go to the website and become a parent TODAY.  Like right now.  Go on!

Goodbye summer :(

Today is September 1...  Labor Day weekend is coming up, and along with that is the deadline I gave myself for my summer list.  I have now come to the very sudden, and kind of crushing, realization that I didn't even come CLOSE to doing all the things on my list.  And now I won't have time before the weekend's over.  Maybe for a few of them, but not all the things that are left.

Among the things not done:
--Fly a kite
--Go camping
--Ride on a tractor
--Make a bouquet of wildflowers
--Roast marshmallows over a fire
--Go swimming
--Go fishing
--Go horseback riding
--Trapshooting

And I certainly didn't write in my journal every week and there's no way that can be fixed.

For some reason, the fact that these things will be left undone at the end of the summer...  It's hitting me hard. To be perfectly honest with you, it kind of makes me want to cry.  I mean, up until now, there was hope that I could do it all.  But now it's September.  BOOM.  Summer gone.

There is one good thing though...  There are some things that I can most certainly finish.  I can watch the sun set, dance all night, go swing in the park, and watch the sun rise.  Who knows, maybe I could go fishing and make my bouquet too...  And maybe even throw in some beer pong.  (I've never done it before, and summer seemed as a good a time as any lol)

So...  We'll see on Monday.  Maybe there's still hope after all.

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Goodbye August!

Dear August,

It's been fun, and I'm sad you're over.  So many fun things happened while you were here...  The NCM Fair, meeting Bomshel, seeing Jake Owen in concert, being less than 6 feet from Jeremy Maclin.  It was great.  Truly.

But all things must come to an end, and I'm saying goodbye.  It's been great knowing you and I look forward to seeing you again next year.

Love,
Destiny

P.S.  I'm willing to overlook the part where Jude died if you are.

Monday, August 30, 2010

Tell us about 5 things you want to do before you die.

1.  Take a cooking class
2.  Meet Jeremy Maclin for real
3.  Go skinny dipping
4.  Go to Canada
5.  Give blood

PICS!

Had a blast at the Chiefs/Eagles game...  Eagles won 20-17 but Jeremy didn't play so well.  I must have distracted him with my stunning beauty lol

I didn't get him to sign anything, but I was LESS THAN 6 FEET from him.  It was epic.  For sure.  Took tons of pics and will post them sometime if anyone is interested :)

Going to see L tmrw at Winston!!

Patience is not a virtue for a guinea pig.

Today, I recorded the lady from the animal shelter and she was talking about guinea pigs. I literally had to bite my lip to keep from laughing at the stuff she said about them. Apparently Henry is a normal guinea pig because he is exactly all the things she was describing.

He is just so... Funny. If you don't feed him RIGHT when he wants you to, he will put his feet on his cage and "wheet wheet wheet" at you. Or he'll pull his water bottle off the cage and throw it on the ground. Or both lol.

Ohh man. Everyday is an adventure at my house. Haha

There's something about summer...

Do you know what I mean? I always feel like I can conquer the world in the summer... And this summer, I plan to do it for real. Maybe not the whole world, but my world anyway. I made a list of things to do this summer (just to be clear, I am considering summer to end on Labor Day weekend). I've already done two of the things, so I'm behind... Considering the list is 35 items long.

So... Things left that I haven't done...
--Go to a concert
--Learn to drive my brother's car
--Go hiking
--Go camping
--Lose 5 pounds
--Take a picture that screams "SUMMER"
--Fly a kite
--Catch fireflies in a jar
--Watch the sun rise
--Find the perfect lemonade
--Go shopping with Grandma
--Write in my journal once a week
--Ride a tractor
--Go skinnydipping
--Finish reading "Gone With The Wind" (right now I'm on page 260 of 1024)
--Watch the sun set
--Go swimming
--Go horseback riding
--Make a bouquet of wildflowers
--Go fishing
--Ride a rollercoaster
--Dance in the rain
--Roast marshmallows over a fire
--Talk to someone I don't know
--Try American Honey
--Go trapshooting
--Swing in the park
--Fall in love
--Dance all night
--Play beer pong
--Feel beautiful
--Carpe Diem
--Love life. Be brave.

That's it. I've done some of it before, but I wanna do it again. And what better time than summer?

Also, there's something about summer that makes me want to draw hearts all over everything ♥

Walter and Thunder.

So we have a lot of animals at my house... Cats, dogs, goats, geese, ducks, turtles, chickens, fish, turkeys, and a guinea pig. Also, a monkey if you count my brother lmao. Anywho, he turtles, fish, and guinea pig live in the house, as does one of the dogs and one of the ducks. Yes, I said we have a duck in our house. Most people think this is weird, and maybe it is... But that's just how we roll lol. Anyway, the duck. His name is Walter, and he has become best friends with our dog, Thunder. Everytime Thunder barks, Walter kind of tilts his head, and then he quacks at him, like he thinks Thunder's talking to him. And when Thunder goes outside, he looks toward the door, like "please come back." Honestly, one of the cutest things I have ever seen. ♥
